New Reviews: Wild Flag’s Debut Is an Emotional Explosion
In this week’s slate of Rolling Stone reviews, Rob Sheffield raves about Wild Flag‘s debut album, which he says “tops anyone’s wildest hopes” for the supergroup featuring members of Sleater-Kinney and Helium and punches “about fucking time buttons” for anyone into bad-ass guitar rock. Also, Will Hermes praises Strange Mercy, the “busily inventive” third album by St. Vincent, David Fricke gives a thumbs up to Primus’ first new record in over a decade, and Jon Dolan digs the second album by the British duo Slow Club, which “bridges the twee whimsy of Belle and Sebastian and the garage-y primacy of early Yeah Yeah Yeahs.”
