Bridge School Benefit 25th Anniversary DVD to Play In Theaters
Twenty-five years ago, Neil Young recruited Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Nils Lofgren, and Crosby, Stills and Nash to play a special acoustic concert to raise money for the Bridge School, which teaches children with severe physical impairments. It’s been held nearly every year since, and it always boasts an impressive line-up. In honor of the 25th anniversary, a two-CD/three-DVD collection of songs from the concert’s history is hitting shelves on October 24th. It features performances by David Bowie, Bob Dylan, the Who, Simon and Garfunkel and many more acts. That same night, the DVD will be screening at movie theaters across the country.
This year’s line-up features Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Los Invisibles featuring Carlos Santana, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons and Beck. Diana Krall and Jenny Lewis were originally on the bill, but they have been replaced by Norah Jones and Devendra Banhart. The show is being held at the Shoreline Ampithteater in Mountain View, California on October 22nd and 23rd. Jimmy Fallon is serving as host on the first night.
