TV on the Radio have added a stretch of new dates for their summer tour. In addition to a headlining set at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on July 17th, the band will play shows in Vancouver, Portland, OR, Seattle, Kansas City, St. Louis and Brooklyn before wrapping up at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, TX on September 17th. VH1 Revives ‘Pop Up Video’
Pop Up Video, a music video program featuring humorous trivia bubbles about songs and videos, will return to VH1 this fall after a decade-long hiatus. The show will remain faithful to its original concept but will this time broaden its scope to include rap videos. [Hollywood Reporter]
My Morning Jacket Team Up With Erykah Badu For Webcast
My Morning Jacket have announced that Erykah Badu and former Saturday Night Live actress Rachel Dratch will take part in the band’s Unstaged webcast on Vevo on May 31st. It is unclear what Badu and Dratch will do in the show, though it should be noted that Badu and MMJ have teamed up in the past to perform a cover of her hit “Tyrone.” [Press release]
Gillian Welch Plans New Album
Songwriter Gillian Welch will release her fifth album, The Harrow and the Harvest, on June 28th. The new disc is said to bring Welch back to her country roots with ten tracks recorded at Woodland Sound Studio in Nashville. The singer will hit the road in support of the album beginning with a performance at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur, California on May 30th. [Paste]
James Blake Announces Fall Tour
Electronic musician James Blake has announced plans for North American theater tour this fall. Blake will kick off this leg at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas on September 16th and hit 12 other cities before wrapping up at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on October 9th.
