Jeff Mangum Adds More Solo Dates
Neutral Milk Hotel songwriter Jeff Mangum has added five dates to his upcoming solo tour. In addition to a string of sold out shows announced earlier this year, the reclusive singer will also play at the First Unitarian Church in Burlington, Vermont on August 8th, Cabaret du Mile-End in Montreal on August 10th, the Academy of Music Theater in Northhampton, Massachusetts on September 7th and 2640 Space at St. John’s Church in Baltimore, Maryland on September 26th and 27th. $1 per each ticket for these shows will go to the Children of the Blue Sky charity. Evanescence Album Due in October
Evanescence singer Amy Lee has told Billboard that the band’s next album, which is planned to hit shops on October 4th, will involve more collaboration from the full band than their previous record The Open Door. According to Lee, a record that the group started with producer Steve Lillywhite has been shelved after she realized it was too much like a solo album. [Billboard]
Company Flow Reunite For Live Shows
The influential underground rap crew Company Flow have announced that they will reunite for gigs at Santos Party House in Manhattan on July 16th and All Tomorrows Parties in the U.K. on July 23rd. Fleet Foxes Extend Fall Tour
Fleet Foxes have added 11 dates to their Northern American tour in the autumn. The new dates in September include gigs in their hometown of Seattle, Los Angeles and the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. The Walkmen are set to open for all of the shows on this leg. [Press release]
Blitzen Trapper to Release ‘American Goldwing’
Portland, Oregon rockers Blitzen Trapper will release their sixth album American Goldwing on September 13th through Sub Pop Records. The band will promote the new disc with a North American tour that will launch at the Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 19th. [Press release]
