David Cassidy Arrested for DUI
Former Partridge Family star David Cassidy was arrested Wednesday night in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence, failure to maintain a single lane and having an open container. He was given a Breathalyzer test and registered a 0.139 and 0.141, well over the state’s legal limit, and was released on $350 bail early Thursday morning. Cassidy admitted he’d taken a painkiller earlier in the day but denied that he was drunk; he plans to fight the charges. [E! Online, TMZ]
Gucci Mane Released From Jail
Rapper Gucci Mane was released from an Atlanta jail late Wednesday night after authorities announced they would not pursue the multiple traffic charges and obstruction allegations stemming from his arrest Tuesday morning. The rapper (real name: Radric Davis) was arrested after an off-duty police officer reported a white Hummer driving erratically. Officers saw the MC arguing with an unnamed man in or beside the vehicle. The officers attempted to intercede, but Davis ignored them and hit the man; the officers used pepper spray to subdue him. They’ll spin it at the beginning of each show, and it will land on one of eight different concepts — ranging from a set of their songs beginning with the letter “S” to the group acting out a selected sitcom — that will determine their first 45-minute set.
