Roc-A-Fella Co-Founder Pleads Guilty of Drug Trafficking
Roc-A-Fella co-founder Kareem “Biggs” Burke is facing a minimum of five years behind bars for conspiracy to distribute more than 1,000 kilos of marijuana. The figure was reduced to 100 kilograms as part of a plea deal in which he agreed to forfeit $660,000 in cash, his house in North Bergen, New Jersey and a 2010 BMW 750. Burke will be sentenced on May 18th.
Burke, who co-founded Roc-A-Fella with Jay-Z and Damon Dash in the Nineties but left the company in 2004, was busted with more than 50 others in a federal drug sting called Operation Green Venom. The sting targeted a massive drug trafficking operation that dominated much of the wholesale pot market in New York City.
