Cam’ron Shot in D.C.
Cam’ron was shot in both arms at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday in Washington, D.C., during a failed carjacking. The Harlem rapper and Diplomat Records CEO was driving away from the popular D.C. waterfront nightclub H2O in his blue Lamborghini when a group of men pulled up in their own vehicle and demanded Cam’ron turn over his car.
Multiple shots were fired into the rapper’s vehicle after he refused to cooperate. “People are foolish if they think I’m going to lose my head and give up anything to anyone just because someone threatens me,” the rap star said of the incident.
Cam’ron (born Cameron Giles) was hit by a single bullet that passed through each arm and was taken to Howard University Hospital, where he was released later that day. “I’m doing OK. It takes more than a botched carjacking to keep me down,” says Cam’ron back at his home on Monday morning.
The Dipset crew leader was in D.C. celebrating Howard University’s homecoming weekend. His next album, Killa Season, is due in February.
