Big Boi On hoping to collaborate with Kate Bush
“They call me the ‘festival killer,'” Big Boi told Rolling Stone from this year’s Austin City Limits. “I come in to destroy shit every time.” But in reality, says the OutKast rapper, “I’m a real cool, quiet and sensual type of guy.”
Lately, when not taking to festival stages, Big Boi has also been doing some killer work in the studio, plugging away on the follow-up to 2010’s Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. While that release had a mile-long guest list, Big Boi says for his next one, entitled Daddy Fat Sax, he’s pulling out all the stops to secure just one collaboration in particular: Kate Bush, an “all around artist” who Big Boi says has been a favorite since the sixth grade.
