Jack White Drops Video Directed by Hype Williams
After a trailer last week promised that the new Jack White video for “Freedom at 21” (from his first solo record, Blunderbuss) would come packed with action, adventure, and a Hype Williams directing credit, the full clip is now available, and it more than fulfills that trifecta.
In the clip, White –rocking a Public Enemies by way of Tim Burton kinda look – finds himself on the run from Johnny Law before getting locked up/grinded upon by some foxy inmates, whom he helps to escape. A high-speed chase ensues, and the video does seem to end on a bit of a cliffhanger. It’s good news for those who want to see more videos in which Williams has White singing and mugging in front of a wall like it’s a Nineties rap video. Seriously, White’s face may never have been more effusive than it is a minute and a half in.
