Adele’s James Bond Theme, ‘Skyfall,’ Leaks
Adele‘s highly anticipated theme for the next James Bond film, “Skyfall,” has leaked online a few hours before its intended debut.
The lushly orchestrated track was posted earlier today by a French radio station, several hours ahead of its officially scheduled premiere at 7:07 p.m. Eastern Time (which is 0:07 a.m. in the United Kingdom, naturally). Adele wrote the track with songwriter Paul Epsworth and recorded it with a 77-piece orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London. “Skyfall” feels like a quintessential Bond theme of brooding Sixties-throwback balladry with somber chords and explosive, mysterious vocals.
You can get a first listen of “Skyfall” here; the Sam Mendes-directed film of same name opens on November 9th. Adele’s website will still post “Skyfall” at 7:07 p.m. Eastern; M would scold her otherwise.
