Best Coast ‘Our Deal’ directed by Drew Barrymore
“Our Deal,” the latest video from the California indie rock trio Best Coast, was directed by movie star Drew Barrymore, who met the band backstage at a recent show in Los Angeles. “[Drew] ended up coming back stage and we hung out,” frontwoman Bethany Cosentino told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “We were like, ‘Okay, how can we work together?” Barrymore and the band then hooked up with MTV, who helped them put together a music video as part of Mean’s Supervideo series.
Barrymore’s clip, which features guest appearances by Community‘s Donald Glover and Arrested Development’s Alia Shawkat, is focused on a love affair between a pair of beautiful teens who belong to rival gangs on the streets of Los Angeles. It starts off funny, then becomes incredibly sweet and romantic before ending in tear-jerking tragedy.
