Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum to Curate All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in England
Neutral Milk Hotel frontman Jeff Mangum has been announced as the curator of the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival on December 2nd through 4th in Minehead, England. In addition to his solo set on the opening night, the bill will include performances by Superchunk, Young Marble Giants and fellow Elephant 6 collective members the Olivia Tremor Control and the Apples in Stereo. The festival will also feature the Raincoats performing their debut album in its entirety and a set by Captain Beefheart‘s Magic Band.
Contest: Choose the Cover of ‘Rolling Stone’
Mangum has also scheduled solo tour dates in Toronto, Boston, New York and Jersey City in August and September in addition to his previously announced appearances in Asbury Park, New Jersey as part of Portishead‘s I’ll Be Your Mirror event, an offshoot of the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival.
Until recently, Mangum has kept an extremely low profile despite the increasing cult popularity of Neutral Milk Hotel. Aside from playing a few small shows in the past year, he has made very few public appearances since the late Nineties and has not released an album of new material since Neutral Milk Hotel’s indie-folk classic In an Aeroplane Over the Sea came out in 1998.
