Jewel Cancels Fall Tour
Jewel has cancelled her planned September and October tour of North America following the death of her bassist, Terome “T-Bone” Hannon, of a stroke last week.
Hannon, 39, who had played in Jewel’s live band for three years, died September 4th in his hometown of Detroit. He was best known in gospel circles, having played with the Boys Choir of Harlem and Kelli Williams. “T-Bone was a phenomenal player and we all loved him,” Jewel said. “We are all just in shock and hurt.”
The tour was to have kicked off September 19th in North Charleston, South Carolina, and was scheduled to run through an October 17th stop in Milwaukee. It was to be Jewel’s first outing in support of her dance-pop-laced fourth album, 0304, released earlier this year.
Instead of the full-band tour, Jewel will play some solo and acoustic dates, which will be announced in the coming days.
