Stevie Nicks has canceled a string of appearances in New York because she has come down with pneumonia and the flu. Nicks was set to appear on the Today Show, Good Day NY and a concert at Webster Hall. “I want to apologize to all my fans and hope that we can reschedule and of course I hope you love the new album. Pixies May Record New Album
Pixies members Joey Santiago and David Lovering say that U2 singer Bono has been urging the band to record a new album, their first since Trompe Le Monde came out in 1991. The group have no official plans so far. It should be noted that the Pixies have been talking about possibly recording new music since reuniting in 2004 and have thus far only released one original song – the Kim Deal tune “Bam Thwock” – in that time. Wayne Coyne Raises Money For Public Art
Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne has joined a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for a public art project along Route 66 in Oklahoma. The money will fund the creation of several elaborate murals to be created by artist Rick Sinnett and his crew. [Kickstarter]
Rick Springfield Arrested For DWI
Eighties pop star Rick Springfield was arrested in Malibu over the weekend for drunk driving. A breath analysis showed that the singer had a blood-alcohol level of 0.10 percent, above California’s legal limit of 0.08 percent. [Reuters]
