Bruce Springsteen Artifacts Heading to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Starting April 1st, Bruce Springsteen fans will be heading to Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for “From Asbury Park to the Promised Land: The Life and Music of Bruce Springsteen,” a new exhibit featuring artifacts from the New Jersey legend’s four-decade career. The exhibit opens just three days before Metallica, Run-DMC, Jeff Beck, Bobby Womack and Little Anthony and the Imperials are inducted into the Rock Hall at a star-studded April 4th ceremony in Ohio. (See all Rolling Stone’s essential Rock and Roll Hall of Fame coverage.) Springsteen, himself a 1999 inductee, will become the subject of the Museum’s most elaborate exhibit dedicated to a single artist. You can get an exclusive look at at the exhibit right now in our gallery: Bruce Springsteen – Artifacts From His Four-Decade Career and more information in our current issue, on stands now.
The Springsteen exhibit contains photos and pieces of memorabilia that date back to the mid-1960s, when Bruce was playing with his first band, the Castiles. Some of the featured objects include the outfit Springsteen wore on the cover of The River, E Street Band keyboardist Danny Federici’s accordion, Springsteen’s handwritten lyrics to “Born In The U.S.A.” and a guitar used by Springsteen on the 2006 Seeger Sessions tour.
Springsteen’s Working on a Dream tour also kicks off on April 1st, in San Jose, California. For more on the trek, don’t miss our interview with the E Street’s Steven Van Zandt.
