D’Angelo Pleads Guilty to Prostitution Charge
R&B singer D’Angelo pleaded guilty on Friday to disorderly conduct for soliciting a prostitute. The singer was arrested in March of last year for attempting to pay $40 to an undercover officer posing as a prostitute. The case is resolved, but no details have emerged since D’Angelo, his attorney and the prosecution all declined to comment on the case.
D’Angelo has had other troubles with the law since he all but disappeared from the music world a decade ago. In 2005, he was given a three-year suspended sentence for cocaine possession and later that year he had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months after being found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol and possessing marijuana. He was also charged with assaulting a woman at a gas station in Richmond, Virginia in 2002.
