Britney Spears Sued for $10 Million Over Perfume Line
Brand Sense Partners, the licensing firm that helped Britney Spears launch her fragrance line, is suing the singer and her father Jamie Spears for over $10 million. The company filed a breach of contract suit in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday, claiming that they had brokered Spears' deal with the cosmetics giant Elizabeth Arden Inc. in 2004 but have not been paid a 35 percent commission agreed upon in the deal.

According to Brand Sense, Spears asked Elizabeth Arden to send all royalties to her, deliberately cutting them out of all revenue. The suit alleges that Spears and her father – who is the conservator of the pop star's estate – made a separate deal with Elizabeth Arden in order to avoid paying Brand Sense. The company is seeking punitive damages "based on the wanton, willful and oppressive nature" of the Spears family's business conduct.
