The Replacements Self-Destruct in ‘Color Me Obsessed’ – Premiere
Color Me Obsessed, Gorman Bechard’s documentary on the punk heroes the Replacements, will be released on November 20th. Now you can check out an exclusive clip of actor-director Jeff Corbett recalling a 1984 show at the Grotto in New Haven that found the band running late, drinking and fighting with each other. It was pure punk-rock to many onlookers but Corbett remembers thinking, “No, it’s sad. They’re great; they’re too good to be that drunk.” It proved a poignant reaction.
“I decided to present the band in a more iconic way,” Bechard tells Rolling Stone of the film. “I thought, people believe in God without seeing or hearing him but rather through the passion, faith and stories of others. After watching Color Me Obsessed, I’m pretty sure music fans will believe in the Replacements in much the same way.”
