John Walker Dead at 67
John Walker, a founding member of the Walker Brothers, has died at the age of 67 on Saturday after a six-month battle with liver cancer. Walker, born John Maus, sang and played guitar in the non-related trio with Scott Walker (né Engel) and Gary Walker (originally Leeds). The Walker Brothers, who relocated from California to the U.K. in the mid-Sixties, scored a string of hits in that decade, including “Make It Easy on Yourself” and “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore.” [BBC]

Bon Iver Launches Summer Tour
Justin Vernon’s project Bon Iver will promote their second full-length album, Bon Iver, with a string of tour dates through July and August. The band will kick off its tour on July 22nd at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee and wrap up with two shows in New York City – the first at the United Palace Theater in Manhattan on August 9th and the second at the Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn on August 10th.
