Trial For Michael Jackson’s Doctor Postponed Until May
The trial of Conrad Murray, the doctor accused of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, will be postponed until May 9th. The trial was originally scheduled to begin on March 24th, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor opted to give both the prosecution and defense more time to share information and prepare for the trial.

Though opening statements will now take place in May, jury selection for the trial will still begin on March 24th as originally planned. This was a concession to Murray, who was reluctant to give up his right to a speedy trial but agreed to the postponement as long as the delay would allow jurors to change their schedules to accommodate what could become a lengthy trial.
