Abby Elliott Won’t Return to ‘SNL’
Abby Elliott is leaving Saturday Night Live after four seasons, according to The Splitsider. It seemed likely that Elliott would exit the show when she landed the lead role in Ben and Kate, a Fox comedy pilot, in February. Fox ordered the series in May, but the role has since been recast with Dakota Johnson.
Elliott, whose father Chris was an SNL cast member on the 1994-95 season, was known on the show for her impressions, including Khloe Kardashian, Angelina Jolie, Zooey Deschanel, Rachel Maddow, Anne Hathaway and more. She joins Andy Samberg and Kristen Wiig in leaving the show after its 37th season, having snagged recent roles in the movies No Strings Attached and High Road. Jason Sudeikis has recently said he would like new creative opportunities if he returns to SNL this fall.
