Shania Twain to Launch Residency in Las Vegas
Country star Shania Twain will begin a two-year residency at Caesars Colosseum in Las Vegas in December of 2012. This will mark the first time in seven years that Twain – whose last album was Up! in 2002 – has performed in concert.
“I feel like I’m on top of the world,” Twain said in a statement. “Honestly, I feel like I climbed a giant mountain. My whole career has been in competition. I’m not counting or anything, it takes too much energy. I’m just gonna get out there and do what I do.”
“The tour and radio industry is highly competitive,” Twain added. “If you can survive that, you can survive Vegas.”
Twain married her second husband, Frederic Thiebaud, in January 2011 and has a son from her previous marriage to Robert John “Mutt” Lange. So how will the country star manage her home life with performing? “The schedule is being planned out in a way that I can, ya know, really get satisfaction personally and professionally,” she told Us Weekly. “Of course Fred and Eja will be with me pretty much all the time I am there. I really don’t like separating those two lives. They really have to go together.”
