Prince Irate After Allegations He’s Anti-Gay Marriage
Prince is reportedly “very angry” after the New Yorker accused him of making anti-gay marriage comments, with the Purple One alleging that the magazine misquoted him in a recent interview. According to the article, “When asked about his perspective on social issues — gay marriage, abortion — Prince tapped his Bible and said, ‘God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out.'” However, a Prince source tells Perez Hilton, “What His Purpleness actually did was gesture to the Bible and said he follows what it teaches, referring mainly to the parts about loving everyone and refraining from judgment.” “We’re very angry he was misquoted,” says the insider.
Whether or not Prince was misquoted, the singer has shown an affinity in the past for alienating his own fanbase. In more light-hearted Prince news, the New Yorker interview revealed that he wears white socks and flip-flops at the same time, compared his conversion to Jehovah’s Witness to “Morpheus and Neo in The Matrix” and told an amusing story about a female stalker who would just sit on the Paisley Park swing set. “I went out there one day and I was, like, ‘Hey, all my friends in there say you’re a stalker. And that I should call the police. But I don’t want to do that, so why don’t you tell me what you want to happen. Why are you here? How do you want this to end?'” Prince said. “And she didn’t really have an answer for that. In the end, all she wanted was to be seen, for me to look at her. And she left and didn’t come back.”
