U2 Add Nashville Show to 2011 360 Tour
U2 have added another date to next year”s leg of their 360 Tour: July 2nd, at Nashville’s Vanderbilt Stadium. Florence and the Machine will open the show, tickets for which go on sale this Friday, October 29th. It’s U2’s band’s first gig in the city since 1981. [U2.com]
Metallica Releasing Second Live EP From Australia
Metallica will release a second volume of their Six Feet Down Under live EP on November 12th. Whereas the first EP focused on archival recordings from Metallica’s past visits to Australia and New Zealand, Part II will feature live tracks recorded on the band’s most recent tour. [Metallica.com]
Madonna to Open Gyms Worldwide
Madonna has reached a deal to open a chain of Hard Candy Fitness gyms, named after the Material Girl’s most recent album, around the world, starting in Mexico City. Madonna will attend the Mexico City opening. More gyms are planned for Europe, Asia, Russia and Brazil but not, yet, the U.S. [AP]
Gene Simmons Treated for Dehydration
Gene Simmons spent a brief period in the hospital yesterday after fainting at Los Angeles airport. Simmons, who fell and cut his forehead, was suffering from dehydration. [TMZ]
Study: Coldplay Helps the British Fall Asleep
A study of 6,000 Britons found that Coldplay is their favorite band to fall asleep to. Alicia Keys, Jack Johnson and Radiohead also made the list. Coldplay was also named Number One when the poll was initially conducted, in 2008. [NME]
