Ted Nugent Drummer Arrested After Stealing Golf Cart
Ted Nugent drummer Mick Brown was arrested on Sunday in Bangor, Maine after allegedly stealing a golf cart, which he commandeered while intoxicated, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Brown took the cart from the Bangor waterfront pavilion, where Nugent had performed with Styx and REO Speedwagon. According to police reports, Brown tried to flee in the cart after officers confronted him, shoving one before another pulled him out of the cart.
Brown was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving to endanger, theft and assault. He was released on $4,000 bail.
The official police report, which can be read on the Bangor police department’s Facebook page, reads: “As [officers] attempted to stop Brown, he accelerated past them, past a third officer and when a security officer got close enough to stop him, Brown allegedly shoved the officer. At that point two other security officers physically removed Brown from the cart and placed him on the ground. He was arrested. No damage was reported to the cart although two traffic cones were damaged, one still under the cart, significantly so.”
Dealing with the authorities isn’t new territory for the Nugent camp: In April, Nugent sat down with the Secret Service to clear up some issues regarding incendiary comments the rocker made about President Obama and the Democratic party.
