Arcade Fire’s Win Butler Organizes Charity Hoops Game
Win Butler of the Arcade Fire will lead a team of musicians against an all-star lineup of professional athletes in a charity basketball game as part of the Pop Montréal festival later this month. The Pop Vs Jock match will pit Butler, his bandmate and brother Will, Vampire Weekend’s Chris Tomson and other athletically-inclined indie rockers against a team featuring NBA veteran Matt Bonner and current and former members of the McGill Redmen and Concordia Stingers.
The game, which will take place at the McGill University Sports Center in Montreal on September 24th, will benefit the DJ Sports Club, a non-profit that offers sports programs in the cityto kids age 7 to 17.
