Kelly Clarkson announced on Facebook that her new album is “supposedly” being released in March, but added “who the heck knows haha” as a friendly disclaimer. Wyclef Considering Fugees Reunion
Wyclef Jean has told the BBC that he is coming up with ideas for new Fugees material after reconnecting with former bandmate Pras Michel on a flight to Haiti. Jean makes no promises, but seems open to working with Michel and Lauryn Hill for the first time since the group imploded after a reunion tour in 2005. [BBC]
Bellamy Brothers Feel Ripped Off by Britney
The Bellamy Brothers, a country rock duo who scored a hit with “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?” in 1979, told the Los Angeles Times that while they have no beef with Britney Spears, they feel that her new single “Hold It Against Me” steals the lyrical conceit of their song. The chorus of Spears song is, “If I said I want your body now/Would you hold it against me?” [LA Times]
Basement Jaxx Score Sci-Fi Movie
According to Scott Pilgrim Vs the World director Edgar Wright, Basement Jaxx have composed a score for his friend Joe Cornish’s forthcoming movie Attack the Block. This has not been confirmed by Basement Jaxx, but Wright tweeted that he heard and enjoyed the music they made for the film. This would be the dance group’s first score, though they have contributed material to several soundtracks over the years. [Guardian]
