Man Claiming to Be White Zombie Drummer Arrested on Fraud Charges
A man claiming to be the former drummer of White Zombie has been arrested in California in connection with multiple fraudulent incidents, the Marin Independent Journal reports. Police say 46-year-old Loren Breckenridge has been using the name of White Zombie drummer Phil Buerstatte, but are unsure if the name is an alias for an impostor – or if Buerstatte is Breckenridge’s legitimate stage name.
Breckenridge allegedly defrauded a California rehab center for $75,000 in false checks and bank account information. While investigating the incident, police learned Breckenridge was wanted in connection with a similar case of fraud involving another rehab center. There are also warrants for his arrest in Florida and Minnesota, and his record is riddled with theft, forgery and fraud charges.
White Zombie broke up in 1998, with Rob Zombie continuing with a solo career. Phil Buerstatte played in the band from 1992-94.
