Adam Lambert Promises “Drama” on “Glam Nation” Tour
Adam Lambert has revealed the first dates of “The Glam Nation” tour, the American Idol Season Eight runner-up’s first headlining trek. “I hope the audience will be able to escape for a few hours and fall into a world full of glam, drama and excitement,” Lambert said in a statement, “and I would love everyone to come away with a new appreciation for the music on my album.” If Lambert’s controversial American Music Awards performance — what Rob Sheffield dubbed a “Full-Frontal Glambgasm” — is any indicator of his stage show, the Glam Nation tour will feature wild outfits, provocative dance moves and high-voltage vocals.

Lambert previously hit the road with his fellow AI Season Eight contestants, but Lambert’s manager Simon Fuller promises, “This tour is going to surpass anything he’s done before. I think his millions of fans will remember this tour for the rest of their lives.” The singer’s AI pal Allison Iraheta will be joining the trek as an opener, along with guitarist Orianthi, who RS spotlighted as a Breaking artist. “I was lucky enough to work with Orianthi on the ‘Sleepwalker’ track on my album,” Lambert said. “She is a killer guitarist and a great vocalist. I’m so excited to be sharing the stage with her.”
The tour kicks off on June 4th in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and travels the northern U.S. before heading out west in July. So far, Lambert has also announced one date for both August and September, so expect the schedule to fill out in the coming weeks. Keep it tuned to Adam Official for on-sale dates.
