A$AP Rocky to Play JFK Alongside Lana Del Rey’s Jackie O. in Video
A$AP Rocky divulged a few details about the upcoming Lana Del Rey video for the song “National Anthem,” in which the Harlem rapper plays – wait for it – John F. Kennedy, according to an interview with 16bars.tv.
“Some swag shit,” said Rocky of the clip. “I play JFK, she plays Jackie O. It’s some cool trippy shit, some real 2015 shit. People are gonna get it in like three years, and that’s the whole purpose of it.”
The A$AP Mob frontman also talked about “Ridin'” (formerly titled “My Bitch”), a collaboration with Del Rey that was supposed to appear on a mixtape from the Kickdrums, but which Rocky decided to hold for his own record. “Let me tell you the situation behind that,” he said. “Lana’s right now about like six months pregnant with my son, so the Kickdrums, they can’t be having me and my baby’s mom on the same track on they album,” the rapper joked before adding a quick “just kidding.”
Rocky and Del Rey have both had very busy years. A few weeks back, Del Rey debuted a new song, “Body Electric” during a performance at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre, while “The Del Rey,” the singer’s first handbag with Mulberry, hit shelves back in May.
Rocky, meanwhile, is putting together his debut album and just put out a video for his track “Brand New Guy,” featuring Black Hippy member ScHoolboy Q, as well as a clip for his track “Goldie,” which Rocky himself directed.
