Dr. Dre, 50 Cent on Eminem “We Made You” Video Set
As evidenced by the above photograph sent to Rock Daily by Eminem‘s reps, Slim Shady, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent convened in Las Vegas this week to film the music video for the first single off the upcoming Relapse, due out May 19th. According to Em’s team, the video is expected to air in early April, which means we should be seeing this clip around the same time Eminem inducts Run-DMC into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As Rock Daily previously reported, Eminem’s new album will be followed by a sequel, Relapse 2, due out later in the year.
According to RapRadar, the video will be for the Relapse single “We Made You” and not “Crack A Bottle,” which has reportedly been nabbed by 50 Cent for his own album, Before I Self-Destruct. While Dr. Dre produced “We Made You,” 50 Cent doesn’t appear on the actual track. He’s just in the music video, maybe because he likes cigars and gambling.
Judging by the matching suits on Dre and Em and the whole Vegas setting, there seems to be some Rain Man motif going on, but this isn’t the first time the pair have donned the same outfit for a music video. And not to sound superficial, but Eminem looks like his old Encore self after rumors he’d had health problems bubbled up during his absence from the music scene.
“Eminem’s very focused right now,” Interscope Records executive Steve Berman told Rolling Stone for our Spring Music Preview. “He’s experienced a lot in life now, both personally and professionally. He’s taking a bigger view.” For much more on Relapse, and many more of the biggest releases hitting shelves in the coming seasons, check out our Spring Music Preview below:
