Mary J. Blige Marries
Mary J. Blige married producer Kendu Isaacs in a quiet ceremony before fifty guests on December 7th in Bergen County, New Jersey.
Blige, 32, credits Isaacs with helping her to turn her life around after years of cocaine and alcohol addiction, as well as an abusive relationship. Blige’s personal turnaround was documented on her last two records: 2001’s No More Drama and this year’s Love and Life. The latter includes the song “Love @ First Sight,” inspired by her first meeting with Isaacs. “It’s about the way that I met the person I am in love with,” Blige told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “It was at a club. Our eyes met, and we knew. The eyes never lie.”
Blige and Isaacs will put off a honeymoon for the time being as she starts planning a tour behind Love and Life, which is nominated for a pair of Grammy awards.
