Britney Spears Hospitalized After “Hostage Brituation” Involving Her Two Kids; Released Next Day
Britney Spears‘ need for a fifth lawyer was hastened late last night when the pop star reportedly refused to relinquish her children back to her ex-husband Kevin Federline. The proverbial shitshow started a little after 7 PM PST when, according to Usmagazine.com, Spears wouldn’t allow Federline’s bodyguard to return Sean Preston and Jayden James to K-Fed, who has temporary custody of the former couple’s two kids. After an hour and a half, the bodyguard finally called the police to help him deal with the reportedly “intoxicated” Spears.
While details are still sketchy, it’s clear that at around 11 PM, fire trucks and ambulances descended on the scene, burst into the Spears’ household and emerged minutes later with Spears strapped to a gurney. (Watch video of Spears being removed by paramedics below.) In what may be the most telling insight into Spears’ mental state, pictures of Britney inside the ambulance capture the singer both smiling maniacally and crying hysterically.
At Cedars-Sinai hospital, Spears was determined to be a “special needs patient” or “5150 hold,” meaning she’s a “danger to herself and/or others” and that she requires twenty-four-hour supervision. At the hospital, it’s been reported that Britney screamed something along the lines of “I’d rather die than let him have my babies,” which could only exacerbate the situation.
Spears’ younger son Jayden James was also seen being ambulanced and then carried into the hospital by a police officer, but it’s currently unknown whether his trip there had anything to do with injuries sustained during what has been mockingly dubbed as “Hostage Brituation 2008” by gossip community Ohnotheydidnt. Us also reports that Spears’ father joined her early this morning, and that Federline’s lawyer will rush to court today to ask the judge to completely disallow Spears’ all visitation rights, a request the judge will most likely grant. Spears remains hospitalized under seventy-two hour lockdown, while Jayden James and Sean Preston were taken to Kevin Federline’s home at around 4:15 AM.
UPDATE, 6:26 PM
It’s official: After last night’s performance, Britney Spears has been stripped of all visitation rights of her two children until further notice. In a ruling handed down by the judge this afternoon, Kevin Federline has been granted full physical and legal custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James until the next hearing, tentatively scheduled for January 14th.
UPDATE, 1:30 PM January 5th
Britney Spears has been released from the hospital; doctors decided she no longer posed a threat to herself, and therefore let her return home today.
