Outside Lands Scores Kings of Leon, Furthur, Strokes
Kings of Leon, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir’s Furthur, the Strokes and My Morning Jacket are booked to headline San Francisco’s scenic Golden Gate Park this August 14th and 15th at the third annual Outside Lands Festival. Cut down from three days to two for the first time, Outside Lands still packs an all-star lineup into 48 hours with Al Green, Phoenix, Social Distortion, the Levon Helm Band, Cat Power and more. Tickets go on sale starting tomorrow, June 2nd at the fest’s official website.
Lesh and Weir’s headlining slot at Outside Lands marks the first time the Grateful Dead bandmates have performed together at Golden Gate Park since a Bill Graham tribute concert in 1991. The Strokes, who will be making just their second U.S. live appearance this summer following their Lollapalooza headlining slot, will also play the 14th along with My Morning Jacket, Gogol Bordello, Cat Power and Wolfmother. Kings of Leon lead the charge on August 15th, where they’ll be joined by Lolla headliners Phoenix, Social Distortion, soul great Al Green, Empire of the Sun and more. Check out the current lineup below; organizers promise more artist announcements soon.
