Plus: Radiohead LP ‘Almost’ Done, T-Pain on Michael Jackson Remake
Radiohead Album Close to Completion
Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood said the band is “almost finished” with its next LP and is planning to follow it with a big tour. He said 10 songs, “maybe some more,” will be on the LP, which guitarist Ed O’Brien recently called “the best album we’ve ever made.” [Consequence of Sound]
T-Pain Says MJ Asked Him to Remake “P.Y.T.“
T-Pain said Michael Jackson himself asked him to rework “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing),” which appears on Quincy Jones’ new Soul Bossa Nostra LP. Jackson “was gonna do a tribute album of himself” before he died, T-Pain added. “It was gonna be everybody remaking his songs, and he was gonna be featured on the songs.” Other artists involved included Akon and Robin Thicke. Avril Lavigne Explains Album Delay
In a letter to fans posted on her website, Avril Lavigne said that her fourth LP has been finished “for a year and now my record company have finally decided to release it. OMG. How nice! Thanks guys.” She put the delay down to “bureaucratic BS” and suggested that disagreements with the label have caused the delay: “People do their best work when they are doing what is natural for them, not when you are forcing them to be something that they are not.” [AvrilLavigne.com via MTV News]
