ODB’s Legal Woes Multiply
Get out your Ol’ Dirty Bastard arrest score card and take note: The
Wu-Tang Clan member was cuffed on Saturday morning in New York
after he allegedly ran a red light in his ’94 Mercedes Benz.| The
rapper (born Russell Jones) was pulled over at 2:43 a.m. in Queens
Village and arrested by uniformed officers after he failed to
produce his driver’s license or vehicle registration.
Upon searching ODB’s Benz, the officers found twenty bags of what
appeared to be crack cocaine, as well as a baggie that seemed to
contain marijuana, according to an NYPD spokesperson. The 105
Precinct charged the rapper with criminal possession of a
controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated
unlicensed operator (driving without a license) and disobeying a
red light.
ODB, who was arrested on similar charges in March, was arraigned on
Saturday but has yet to be released. He is due back in court on
August 13, according to a spokesperson for the Queens County
District Attorney’s office.
