MTV Apologizes to the Black Keys
When the Black Keys won the Best Breakthough Video VMA last month for their song “Tighten Up,” then received a trophy that said “Black Eyed Peas” instead of their own name, they just had to share it with the world — posting a photo of it on their website and making a joke of it. In a statement today, MTV apologized to the Black Keys for what was a somewhat understandable printing error.
“MTV sincerely regrets the clerical error that resulted in The Black Keys receiving the wrong VMA awards,” the statement read. “We are happy to report new trophies reflecting The Black Keys’ win are currently in development and they should receive them shortly. Lastly, we thank The Black Keys for their considerable patience and understanding regarding this matter.”
