An anonymous Beatles fan shelled out $14,740 at auction to buy a porcelain toilet owned by John Lennon between 1969 and 1971. “I think it’s the most unusual item we’ve ever had in our auction,” the auctioneer said of the commode, which went for 10 times more than its pre-auction estimate. [Reuters]

Khurram Sher, a Montreal doctor who was recently arrested for conspiring to commit terrorist acts in Canada, tried out for Canadian Idol in 2008. Wearing traditional Pakistani clothing, Sher sang Avril Lavigne‘s “Complicated” and was unanimously panned by the judges. [Reuters]

Drake and Nicki Minaj had a little fun at their Twitter followers’ expense this weekend, as the Young Money stars pretended to have wed, then said the union was annulled. “Please refer to [Nicki Minaj] as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and don’t stare at her too long. She’s finally mine,” Drake tweeted. Minaj later wrote, “My husband Drake and I have decided to have our marriage annulled.” []
