Phish at Hampton: Photos From the Jam Legends’ Reunion Gigs
They came, they saw, they jammed: Phish reunited for their first shows in nearly five years this past weekend, bringing super grooves like “Tweezer” and “You Enjoy Myself” to Hampton, Virginia, where thousands of loyal fans begged for tickets, ate parking-lot grilled cheese and hippie danced for three glorious nights (check back later for more on the members of Phish nation who made it to the gigs). Rolling Stone was on the ground at the shows, charting how “Divided Sky” followed “Fluffhead” on night one<, and how the band covered the Velvet Underground and the Beatles on night two. But how did Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Page McConnell and Jon Fishman look, you ask? We’ve got the answer covered in an incredible photo gallery: Phish at Hampton: Jam Legends Reunite for Virginia Gigs.
Don’t forget, if you couldn’t make it to Virginia (or don’t remember being there), Phish are offering up free downloads of the Hampton series of concerts on their livephish.com Website. And Rock Daily has a little gift for all the Phishheads out there, too: a look back at Phish’s career from their early days in Vermont clubs to their megafests in Phish Through the Years: Photos and video of the band rocking out “Fluffhead” from the recently released Clifford Ball set.
