Eminem Announces New Album “Relapse,” Plays New Song On Sirius
Yesterday on Eminem‘s Sirius radio station Shade 45, the “retired” MC took to the satellite airwaves to reveal that his new album will be called Relapse. The announcement came during an on-air party for Slim Shady’s upcoming book The Way I Am. No official word or press release pertaining to Relapse has been given, but following the radio announcement Em did play a new song called “I Need a Relapse.” Eminem also added that Dr. Dre produced the majority of the album because Em wanted to concentrate on the lyrics. As for the release date, Interscope/Aftermath are supposedly planning a “three-headed monster” as 50 Cent put it, with Fiddy’s own Before I Self Destruct out December 9th, followed by Relapse possibly before the end of the year and then Dr. Dre’s long-rumored Detox shortly after that. If Relapse ends up being a reality, it’ll be Marshall Mathers’ first full album since 2004’s Encore.
