The Strokes Album Release Date Leaks
A leaked memo from RCA Records, the American label for The Strokes, has revealed that the group’s highly anticipated fourth album is set for a March 22nd release. Further details, including the record’s title and track listing, are still unknown. [NME]
Of Montreal Plan New EP
Of Montreal frontman Kevin Barnes has announced that his band will be releasing a new EP titled the Controller Sphere in the spring. The EP will contain songs written during the same period as the album False Priest, which came out last year. Interestingly, this release completes a run of records that were essentially announced in 2007 song “Faberge Falls For Shuggie.” At the song’s climax, Barnes sang a sequence of phrases that would become the titles of his next three major releases — Skeletal Lamping, False Priest and now, the Controller Sphere. The Kills Announce New Album
After two albums as a member of Jack White’s band Dead Weather, singer Alison Mosshart has reunited with her longtime songwriting partner Jamie Hince for a fourth album as The Kills. The duo’s fourth album, Blood Pressures, is scheduled to be released on April 4th. [NME]
