‘American Idol’ Winner Scotty McCreery to Release Debut in October
Scotty McCreery, the winner of the 10th season of American Idol, has announced that his debut album Clear as Day will hit stores on October 4th. The disc, produced by Nashville veteran Mark Bright, will be a straight-up country pop record featuring his post-Idol hit “I Love You This Big.” In a message to his fans on his website, the 17-year-old crooner wrote “We focused on making the best music possible. I’m really proud of it and so grateful to have the opportunity to record an album before my 18th birthday.

Idol runner up Lauren Alaina is set to release her first album, Wildflower, one week later on October 11th. The record takes its name from the track “She’s a Wildflower,” which was penned by Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood collaborators Hillary Lindsey, Steve McEwan and Gordie Simpson.
