Scialfa Sings New “Lullaby”
Patti Scialfa will release her second album, 23rd Street Lullaby, on June 15th. The set is the E Street Band singer’s first solo recording since her debut Rumble Doll eleven years ago.
Scialfa enlisted a pair of E Streeters — guitarist Nils Lofgren and singer Soozie Tyrell — to guest on the album, though her husband, Bruce Springsteen, doesn’t make an appearance. The set also features progressive guitarist Marc Ribot (Tom Waits, Sam Phillips), bassist Willie Weeks (David Bowie, George Harrison), keyboardist Clifford Carter (James Taylor) and cellist Jane Scarpantoni (R.E.M., Lou Reed). Steve Jordon, who has worked with Keith Richards and Sheryl Crow, played drums and co-produced the album with Scialfa.
