The Game Apologizes for Twitter Prank
The Game made an appearance on CNN yesterday to apologize for a Twitter prank last weekend that flooded a sheriff’s office in Compton with hundreds of phone calls from fans seeking an internship with the Los Angeles rapper. “It was a simple mishap,” the Game said. “I was doing a photo shoot and it was downtown Los Angeles and one of my boys picked up my phone and started tweeting random numbers.”
“I never want to be the source of anything happening wrong to anybody or anybody not being able to get through to the help lines at the police station,” he said. “I don’t ever want to see anyone hurt. I’ve got kids at home. I’m not that guy.” The rapper finished the interview by offering his “sincerest apologies to the sheriff’s department” and insisting that it was “just a joke gone wrong.”

As a result of his public apology, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department has opted not to pursue criminal charges against the rapper.
