Kaskade Debuts new stage spectacle at Coachella
The superstar house DJ Kaskade (real name: Ryan Raddon) is nearing the launch of his grandest tour ever. He’ll play 50 cities, with many of the shows in arenas, and he’ll also be taking a new toy on the road with him. “I’ve built and designed a new stage that’s going to go out on tour with me this summer for the Freaks of Nature tour, and I decided to debut it here at Coachella,” explained the Fire and Ice musician at Rolling Stone’s Rock Room party, on the eve of his second headlining set in the festival’s dance-driven Sahara tent. “I’ve put a ton of time into this show, more than anything I’ve ever done up to this point in my career.”
While at the Rolling Stone Rock Room party, the EDM tastemaker also took a moment to marvel at how far his genre as come. “So much has led up to this moment for dance music and for electronic music. It’s kind of a bit like I’m dreaming,” he explained. “I have to shake myself, like, ‘Wow, this is really happening – people are really paying attention.’ For decades, we’ve been kind of just like chilling out in the underground, doing our thing and no one really cared. It’s just crazy to finally see so many people listening and paying attention.”
