According to TMZ, Brown’s people blamed the altercation on Ocean, saying that Ocean and his entourage had blocked Brown from leaving Westlake Studio, where Brown had been listening to one of the artists he represents. After exchanging words, Brown allegedly went to shake Ocean’s hand, which sparked a brawl between the singers and their crews.
Brown had left the parking lot by the time police arrived, but Ocean talked to the responding officers. Police said the investigation is ongoing and they would contact Brown later.
Ocean also tweeted, “Cut my finger and now I can’t play w two hands at the grammys.” The singer is scheduled to perform February 10th at the awards ceremony, where he’s nominated for six awards, including Album of the Year for Channel Orange and Best New Artist.
Brown, who’s up for one Grammy, last year got into a fight with Drake at a New York club, and grabbed a woman’s cell phone when she tried to snap his picture. He wasn’t charged in either incident.
