Watch Arcade Fire Score ‘Her’ in This Exclusive Clip
Arcade Fire kept quite busy at the studio last year: Along with recording and releasing their indie rock dance floor epic Reflektor, the band teamed up with director Spike Jonze to score his latest film, the sci-fi romance Her. With the Oscar-nominated film now out on DVD and Blu-Ray, you can check out this new video, which documents the creation of the score. Working closely with Jonze and Her‘s sound and music supervisor Ren Klyce, the clip offers an intimate look at the ups and downs of the creative process, how Arcade Fire went about went about composing and recording music for the film, and where “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” may have been a crucial influence.

During an interview with Rolling Stone last year, Arcade Fire frontman revealed that Jonze’s script for Her helped inspire Reflektor‘s last track: “‘Supersymmetry’ was a song we’d written that I thought might be good for the movie, so we did a really quick demo of it, maybe an hour, and then kinda forgot about it. Then at the end of recording, I found a rough mix and played it for [producer] James [Murphy], who was like, ‘That should be on the album!’ So now it’s the last song [on Reflektor].”
