Bjork Reveals Recent Successful Vocal Cord Surgery
In a note on her website, Bjork revealed that she recently underwent a successful surgery on her vocal cords to mend the polyp that doctors discovered a few years ago.
The Icelandic singer noted that over the past four years, she had tackled the problem "the natural way" through stretches and eating specific foods. But recent technological developments tempted her into "hi-tech lazier stuff," she said, "and I have to say, in my case anyway: surgery rocks!"
"I stayed quiet for 3 weeks and then started singing and definitely feel like my chords are as good as pre nodule!" Bjork continued. "It's been very satisfying to sing all them clear notes again."
Earlier this year, the problem forced Bjork to cancel a few shows, but she ended her letter on an optimistic note: "So looking forward to singing for you in 2013."
