Rolling Stone at SXSW 2009: On the Ground in Texas
The intrepid Rolling Stone team has finally arrived in Austin, Texas, for this year’s South by Southwest Festival, the first major live-music event of 2009. Once we’re properly fortified with tasty BBQ we’ll be bringing you reports and footage from the fest’s most buzzed-about events. Over the next few days, we’ll be catching the reunited Jane’s Addiction (and catching up with Perry Farrell), chatting with Metallica about their special edition of Guitar Hero, getting the lowdown on Juliette Lewis’ new band the New Romantiques and hanging with the Hold Steady — and rolling from gig to gig in our fleet of PT Cruisers. Plus, we’ll have reports on the Airborne Toxic Event, White Lies, Little Boots, Amazing Baby, King Khan & the Shrines, Charles Hamilton and a host of other up-and-coming acts you need to know about — some of whom we haven’t even found yet (and yes, David Fricke is down hearing scoping out the talent, too).
Stay tuned for photos and much more from rock’s tastiest festival, right here at Rolling Stone.
