Willie Nelson, Band of Horses Lead Second Railroad Revival Tour
The Railroad Revival Tour – the trek that saw Mumford & Sons and a host of other musicians travel to outdoor dates by train – has announced a new lineup and route for 2012.
This year’s trip will find Willie Nelson & Family, Band of Horses, Jamey Johnson and John Reilly & Friends crossing the rails for eight shows between Duluth, Georgia and Oakland, California. Things kick off October 20th at, fittingly enough, the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth.
Early-bird discounted tickets will go on sale July 27th at 10 a.m. CST.
“Railroad Revival Tour is an experience that transcends typical music tours or festivals and glorifies the historical romance between music and trains under the setting of the great American landscape,” reads a statement announcing the tour’s second year. It also notes that along with individual performances, the RRT promises “spontaneous and unique collaborations onstage as well as on the train between stops.”
